Brian Stack recognized by JROTC Program at Union City High School!

Union City Mayor and New Jersey State Senator Brian P. Stack receives a citation from Us Marines Lt. Coronel E.G. Hansen, and US Marines Gunnery Sgt. Caonabo Reyes at Union City High School on November 14, 2008.

Senator Stack’s fiancee, Mercedes Ortíz, was also recognized on this special night. Ms. Ortíz receives a citation from Lt. Coronel Hansen and Sgt. Reyes.



US Marines Lt. Coronel E.G. Hansen, war veteran, was selected to personally serve one of our greatest presidents, Ronald Reagan. 100% Marine Lt. Coronel Hansen, delivers a heartfelt, meaningful speech to the Union City High School JROTC core. Union City is lucky and proud to have this genuine American patriot helping our youth. Lt. Coronel Hansen is now in charge of the Union City High School JROTC Program.


Sgt. Caonabo Reyes leads by example. We have referred to this great American as an example and inspiration to all who have had the privilege to know him. His code of ethics and commitment have inspired our youth and has benefited our community since he has been an intrinsic part of it. A Gulf War veteran and an exceptional man, Sgt. Reyes has earned the trust and friendship of our community. It’s an honor to have him as a positive influence among our youth. On a personal note, it’s a privilege to know him and a true honor to have him as a friend. In True Marine fashion, he has impacted our community positively. These are the tough guys. These are the men whose moral and ethical foundations built this country. On the night of November 14, 2008, Lt. Coronel Hansen and Sgt. Reyes were recognized with a standing ovation from the community and the officials who took part of a special night in Union City.
