War Hero Assigned to Lead Post #221 of The American Legion!


El Sabado 29 de Septiembre del 2007 se llevó a cabo la instalación del Nuevo Comando del American Legion post 221 en Ridgefield, NJ. A la ceremonia asistieron los siguientes líderes; el alcalde de Rigdefield; Anthony Suarez , el pasado alcalde de esta ciudad; Stuard Veal, el Asistente a Superintendente de la Junta de Educación de Union City y Principal de Emerson High School; Robert Fazio, el Presidente de la Junta de Educación de Ridgefield; John Ponticorvo, el Vice Principal de Emerson High School; Eliseo Alemán. También estuvieron presentes numerosos veteranos del Ejército de Los Estados Unidos para brindar su apoyo al Nuevo Comando de la Legión Américana y a su representante, el distinguido y condecorado héroe de guerra, Sargento de los US Marines, Caonabo Reyes.

On Saturday September 29, 2007 the new installations of the American Legion-post 221-opened its doors in Ridgefield, New Jersey. US Marines Sgt. Caonabo Reyes, will be leading the American Legion at post 221. The opening ceremonies received the support of community leaders and war veterans alike. Ridgefield Mayor, Anthony Suarez, former Mayor Stuard Veal, Union City’s Board of Education Assistant Superintendent of Schools and Emerson High School Principal, Robert Fazio, Ridgefield Board of Education President, John Ponticorvo, and Emerson High School Vice Principal, Eliseo Alemán were among the leaders that showed their support last Saturday.

A Gulf War Veteran, Sgt. Reyes, leads the R.O.T.C. Program at Emerson High School in Union City. A true leader, Sgt. Reyes has earned the respect of students, faculty and administration at Emerson High School and the Hudson County community. He resides in Ridgefield where his leadership keeps on making a difference. Congratulations Sgt. Reyes!
